Tangent Announces DataCove DT Email Archival Appliance --New Disk-to-Disk Back-up and Integrated Exchange 2007 Support

BURLINGAME, CA, (March 11, 2010) -- Tangent Inc., today released DataCove DT (disk-based technology), a feature-rich enterprise Relevant Products/Services class email archival appliance that has an advanced disk-to-disk back-up function, increased integrated Exchange 2007 support, and a streamlined operating system that is 20 percent faster than other DataCove products.

The DataCove DT is the newest member of the award-wining DataCove family made-up of simple plug and play email archival appliances that allow organizations of all sizes to index, archive, and instantly retrieve electronically stored information Relevant Products/Services (emails, digital Relevant Products/Services faxes and even instant messages).

DataCove appliances support from 250 to 40,000 users in small to large organizations. Advanced search, digital signing and up to 20 TB of storage Relevant Products/Services are key features.

DataCove DT provides an eloquent disk-to-disk back-up that allows customers to use an Network Attached Storage (NAS) system at any location while always retaining a redundant copy of the data.

DataCove DT also offers Exchange 2007 instead of Exchange 2003 Stubbing. Stubbing eases storage requirements by displaying your inbox mail, but allowing content Relevant Products/Services to reside outside the mail server Relevant Products/Services. DataCove DT's new stubbing feature allows all emails to sit on DataCove instead of Exchange servers. This lightens the load on Exchange and lets DataCove and Exchange servers work in tandem. While this is commonly done with Exchange 2003, it's rare with Exchange 2007.

Besides easing mail server storage requirements, DataCove DT eliminates the need for an additional software client to view archived mail and provides a seamless integration with Exchange and Outlook.

DataCove DT also has faster search and retrieval, reduced storage requirements, support for multiple mail systems, and digital signing.

Digital signing is important for customers who require increased security for long term e-mail storage. All e-mail is encrypted and permanently stored using internal encryption keys. Data can't be deleted from the device and any changes to the data are logged with all old data still stored in the original format.

Like all DataCove products, DataCove DT supports multiple mail systems, maximizes compression ratios to provide maximum storage and allows administrators to import all PST files directly without using a separate import program. The powerful software also features envelope journaling and has a new GUI design with advanced search queries.

"DataCove DT is a long term archival solution for enterprise class networks that need fast, granular retrieval of information from within networks with tens and hundreds of Terabytes of data, " noted Tangent President Doug Monsour.

Pricing for DataCove DT starts at $6,190 for the basic DC500 unit-which can archive messages from 500 e-mail users-and ranges up to $49,990 for the DC8000 enterprise-level appliance.
